Cultural Center Moravská Třebová

A LINK TO A RICH INDUSTRIAL FOOTPRINT

The project of the New Cultural Centre approaches the existing historical legacy of the textile industry in Moravská Třebová with the utmost respect. Significant buildings in the area are being reconstructed and adapted to the new function. This not only preserves the genius loci of the original industrial plant, but also ensures the sustainability of the entire project.

CULTURAL LIGHTHOUSE

The links between the architectural elements and their environment existed only partially; the site has undergone many transformations that have gradually caused it to lose its connection with the surrounding landscape and the urban context has been broken. The new transformation into a Cultural Centre has the chance to become a cultural catalyst, a machine for Culture instead of a machine for Textiles.

CULTURAL SQUARE

The whole area is reminiscent of the main square in Moravská Třebová, T.G. Masaryk Square, in its size and layout. In close proximity to the historical centre, the new Lighthouse of Culture, Kulturní náměstí, is being created.

It opens up to its surroundings, seamlessly connects to the park with the Museum building, and offers spaces for relaxation and seating. It creates a new social epicentre.
